Annie Mae Torbert

Annie M. Torbert-Funeral services were held on Friday March 18, 2016 at 11 am, at Third Baptist Church, for Mrs. Annie Mae Torbert, 90, who departed this life on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Oasis Center. Mrs. Torbert was born September 23, 1925, in Clayton, Ala., a daughter of Colie and Lizzie Miller Tyson. She was a dietician at Southside Hospital and a kitchen aide for over 30 years at Cleveland School. She was a member of Third Baptist Church and The Missionary Society. Her husband, Ben Torbert Jr., whom she married January 9, 1954, died February 18, 1998. She leaves her children, Bety (Willie) Saxon of Youngstown, Jeanette (Dan) Daniels of Boardman, Fred (Marcella) Lowe of Stoughton, Mass., Atty Ronald (Melanie) Torbert of West Bloomfield, Mich., Keith (Zinna) Torbert of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Ben (Leslie) Torbert III, with whom she made her home; a sister, Mary White of Youngstown; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Colie Tyson, and mother Lizzie Tyson Evans.
