Felicia L. Johnson-Braxton- Services will be held Thursday September 10, 2015 for Mrs. Felicia L. Johnson-Braxton, 70, Youngstown, who depated this life on Wednesday September 2, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Braxton was born July 15, 1945 in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of Clinton & Louise Maddox Johnson and coming to Youngstown as a child. Mrs. Braxton attended The Rayen School, and upon graduation she enrolled into YSU for her associates degree and continued on to Kent State for her BSN in nursing. She began her nursing career at Cafaro Hospital until its closing, and continued on to St. Elizabeth and Northside Hospital where she retired. She worked for various Home Health agencies, especially Elaine Wilson as a Case Manager, Clinical Supervisor, a RN Supervisor, A CPR, First Aide Instructor, and STNA Instructor. Mrs. Braxton, was a faithful member of Greater Friendship Baptist Church where she was a past Sunday School Superintendent, and Nurse's Ministry, She was also a member of the Mahoning Shenango Valley SS Union Bible Quiz. Mrs. Braxton held several offices in the Eastern Star; Supreme Chaplain of the Lady Knights, Grand Chaplain of Elizabeth Grand Chaplain, O.E.S. State of Ohio, Inc, working under The Most Worshipful St John's Grand Lodge A. F. & A. M. Inc, State of Ohio Elizabeth Grand Chapter-Nurses, Silver Star Chapter #4 O. E. S.-Past Worthy Matron, Minerva Court #5 Order of Amaranth-Past Royal Matron, Elizabeth Court #1, Heroines of Jericho, Elector Council #24, Ladies on Knights-Past Worthy Chief Counselor, Ruth Court #23, Ancient Arabic Order of Daughters Sphinx-Most Worthy Grand Matron, Rollins Memorial College #24, and Rose of Seven Seals-Most Excellent Rose. She leaves to mourn her children; Renee' (Freddie) Thomas of Youngstown, Victor T. (Kim) Bush of Rineyville, Kentucky. A sister; Geri Lee of Campbell, and a brother Roy (Peggy) Johnson of Radcliff, Kentucky. She leaves her special sisters; Ruth Jenkins, Mary Simmons, Alice Baraka, Jackie Haywood, Jessie Huggins, and Hazel Hooker. Her special daughters; Iris Thomas and Valerie Braxton-Thompson, a very son Phil (Lisa) Patterson. She leaves 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, a son; Lawrence Bush, sisters Mary Jane Johnson, Catherine (Clay) Maddox, and  Elizabeth Johnson, Brothers; Joshua (Sue) Johnson and Tommy (Catherine) Johnson. A granddaughter; Rosalyn Thomas. In lieu of flowers the family has requested monetary donations. Family will receive friends at 311 Ferndale Ave following dinner. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the funeral services. Arrangements are being handled by F. D. Mason Memorial Fruneral Home Inc.
