Karen Frances Gilbert

Karen F. Gilbert-Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Monday November 16, 2015 at The Gospel Temple Baptist Church for Mrs. Karen Frances Gilbert,  61, who departed this life on Sunday November 8, 2015 in St. Elizabeth Health Center. Mrs Gilbert was born April 18, 1954 in Youngstown, a daughter of Henry and Dorothy L.Tazwell Hall Sr. She attended South High School, became a nurses' aide in 1985 for Omni Manor Nursing Home and St. Elizabeth Health Center, and ended her career as a home health aide for Easter Seals in Youngstown in 2008. She was a member of the church and loved to read God's word. She enjoyed music, singing, and cooking, and was a great cook. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was her joy. In 1972, she met and married Carvillia Gilbert Sr., and to this union was born Carlissa (Daryl) Gilbert, Carvillia Gilbert Jr., April (Desmond) Buchanon, and Cory Gilbert all of Youngstown, and Kevin Gilbert of San Atonio, TX. She also leaves a brother, Henry Hall Jr., of Cleveland; 3 sisters, Melody Hall and Kimberly (Craig) Whitfield, all of Youngstown, and Anita (Robin) Holland of Denver; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Mark Hall; and 2 sisters: Zandra Smith and Mary Feagins. Friends may call from 11 am to 12 noon Monmday at the church.
