Melva Lee Coney

Melva was born April 24, 1961 in Youngstown , a daughter of Samuel Harper and Joyce Coney. She was a graduate of South High School, was a domestic housekeeper, loved helping people, and she attended New Bethel Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her 3 children, Gregory Lee Brown Jr,. Ebony Coney, and Chemarra Davis, a brother, Alonzie Coney, 2 sisters, Sonia Coney, and Robin Smallwood, 3 aunts, Gertrude Johnsoin, Helen Walker, and Cheryl Walker, her favorite cousin Stephanie whom she stayed with when she came into town, 6 grandchildren, Rashaun, Ahlycia, Gulius, Cyrah, Gziah, and Dajuan Jr.,a great-grandchild, Ametrus (her peanut), and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, her grandparents, Robert and Annie Booth, aunts, Loretta Booth, Earnestine Tabourne, and Barbara Hopkins.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 23, 2023 at the New Bethel Baptist Church at 11 am. Friends may call from 10-11 am on Tuesday at the church.
