Rose Ann Hardy

Rose A. Hardy-Funeral service will be 1 pm on Saturday at New Zion Gospel Church for Mrs. Rose Ann Hardy, 84, Youngstown, who departed this life on Sunday October 9,2016, in Northside Medical Center. Mrs. Hardy was born June 22, 1932 in Columbus, Oh, a daughter of Rev. Marcellus Gains, Sr., and Rev. Anna Edon Gains. She worked for the Chicago school system and was a member of the church. She loved shopping, cooking, and had an extraordinary love for animals. Her husband, Fred Hardy, Sr., died January 19, 2001. She leaves her children: Elder Fred (Tabitha) Hardy, Jr., and Joe (Marice) Hardy, Sr.,a brother: Timothy Gains; 2 sisters; Helen Marlowe and Anne Robinson, all of Youngstown; 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters: Mary and  Martha Gains, Dorothy Williams, Susan Jackson, and Grace Robinson; 7 brothers: Richard, Edward, Jack, Robert, Paul, Melvin, and Marcellus Gains, Jr. Friends may call from 12 noon to 1 pm at the church.  Arrangements are being handled by the F.
