Sylvia "Jeannie" Whitman

Sylvia "Jeannie" Whitman-Funeral service will be 11 am, Tuesday, at New Hope Baptist Church, for Mrs. Sylvia "Jeannie" Whitman, 73, Youngstown, who departed this life on Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Mrs. Whitman was born June 3, 1944, in Youngstown, a daughter of  Delroy and Stevie M. Wesson Pasley. She was a foreman for General Electric for 34 years. A member of the church, she was a , a Sunday School teacher, Deaconess, member of the Gospel chorus, and Women's Ministry. She was a Consultant for Dispute Resolutions. She leaves her husband John A. Whitman Sr.,2 children, Debra L. (Wallace) Hale, and  John (Netta) Whitman Jr.,siblings; Carlette Moore, Delores Duncan, Juanita Pasley, Kenneth (Sceil) Pasley, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Edna M. Bolden. Friends may call from 10 am to 11 am at the church.
