Virginia Mildred Burkes

Virginia M. Burkes-Funeral service will be 12 noon, Monday, October 8, 2018, at the F D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., for Mrs. Virginia M. Burkes, 95, Youngstown departed this life on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in Oasis Center.

Mrs. Burkes was born April 29, 1923, in Youngstown, a daughter of William and Carrie Lee Venable Coffey. She was a homemaker, a member of  the AARP, and the Elks Lodge. She leaves her children; Gloria Hobbs and Carla Lemons, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents,  husband John Henry Burkes, sons; Samuel and Richard Carey, and a sister Helen Lloyd. Friends may call from 11 am to  noon on Monday at the funeral home.
